Saint of the Day: St. Margaret Mary, Virgin
Verosvres, Autun, France, 1647 - Paray-le-Monial, 17 October 1690

Born in Burgundy in 1647, Margaret had a youth difficult, especially because he had to win the resistance of parents to enter, at twenty-four, neII'Ordine of the Visitation, founded by St. Francis de Sales. Margaret, became Sister Maria, remained twenty years between the Visitation, from the beginning and offered a "victim to the Heart of Jesus." It was misunderstood by the Sisters misjudged by his superiors. Even at first wary of her spiritual directors, judging it a fanatical visionary. Blessed Claude La Colombiere became valuable guide of the mystic nun of the Visitation, ordering them to narrate, in his autobiography, his ascetic experience. The inspiration of the saint, came the Feast of the Sacred Heart, and the practice originated in the first nine Friday of the month. He died October 17, 1690. (Future)

MEDITATION ...

From "Letters" of St. Margaret Mary virgin

We know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge

seems to me that the great desire of our Lord that His Sacred Heart is honored in a special way with the aim of renewing the anime effects of his redemption. In fact, his Sacred Heart is an inexhaustible source that seeks only to fill the hearts of the humble, empty, detached from everything and always ready to make sacrifices for pleasure. This divine heart is an inexhaustible source, from which descend continuously three channels: the first is that of mercy toward sinners and brings them the spirit of contrition and penitence. The second is that of charity and runs to bring relief to all destitute who are in some need, particularly those who tend to perfection: they will find the strength to overcome obstacles. The third is that of love and light to the perfect friends, that he wishes to join himself, to inform them of his science and his desires, because, one way or another, should consecrate themselves totally to his glory.
This divine heart is an abyss of good in which the poor have to pass on their needs. It 'an abyss of joy, where they have to throw all our sorrows. It 'an abyss of humiliation for our pride, an abyss of mercy for the unfortunate, and an abyss of love, where you have to bury all our miseries. You do not join in so that all your actions to the Sacred Heart of our Lord, beginning to lay out at the end to pay off. For example, you feel unable to pray? Be content to offer the prayer that the Divine Savior does for us in the sacrament of the altar. Give his outbursts to repair all your imperfections. Repeat your every action, therefore my God, this thing I do or suffer in the Sacred Heart of your Divine Son, and according to his holy intentions that I offer to fix all that is impure and imperfect in my work there. And so in different life situations.
When you'll have some pain, distress or humiliation, say to yourself: Accept what the Sacred Heart of Jesus, sends you to join him. Above all try to preserve the peace of the heart, so far beyond any treasure. The means of achieving this is to have no more free will, but that this divine Heart in place of ours, let us wish for anything that could increase his glory, happy to surrender and submit to him in all things. (Vie et Ceuvres 2, Paris 1915, 321. 336. 493. 554)

PRAYER

Bestow upon us, O Lord, the spirit of holiness that you gave to St. Margaret Mary, that we know the love of Christ which surpasses all understanding, and enjoy the fullness of divine life. Through Christ our Lord. AMEN.
